Unlike the Red 1998 VFR800 (above left) that I wrote off,
my 1999 Honda Anniversary
is going to be cherished and we are gonna stick together.
News - Track day at Cadwell, I ran both '86 & '99 VFR's - Which handled best? Which overheated? See the pics...

News - Track day at Oulton, against the stop watch which was quicker ? The '86 or '99 VFR ? See the pics...

I'll take care of her and she'll look after me just nicely.

Previously, the plan was to enter the 2000 Production TT.

All Dressed up and nowhere to go...

Old and new, Shocking isn't it !

Splashing around a wet Donington Park, March 2000 I gave the VFR800 all the extras, a Norman Hyde Pipe, Ohlins front and rear suspenders, decent "HH" brake pads, K&N filter, X Ring chain, NGK Platinum Race Plugs and Renthal Sprockets, it was a flying machine. I did a track day at Donington to get it set up and was really gagging to get back on the "Island".

Unfortunately the races were over subscribed and despite all the preparation and backing I'd received we were denied an entry. I was gutted, absolutely destroyed. The emails I got from VFR fanatics around the world was a help, but nothing could cheer me up, I couldn't even watch the 2000 races let alone go over to watch.
As it was also Joey's last TT, and I'm sorry I wasn't there even more.
We put in for it again in 2001, sure that I'd get an entry this time, but the "Foot and Mouth" cancelled the whole thing, and that was that.
I doubt I'll ever race there again, just couldn't stand the rejection if I was turned down again, a shame but there it is.
