Running here at Cadwell for the first time and loving every minute of it.
That's Kevin Marshal behind me on his TZ, I was content to be in front of a regular like him, although he never was a front runner it made me feel better.
First time out at Snetterton I decided to take a half test day to get used to the circuit and it paid dividends. The crank split right across the taper that holds on the ignition rotor but being a boy scout I bodged it back on and it survived the entire weekend meeting. Rather than walk away I paid to run an extra race to try out some radical suspension theories, just for the hell of it and paid the price. The left hand main bearing seized solid going into the bomb hole putting me down on the tarmac over the highside and into the tyres. Russ caught it all on video so while the marshals were clearing the debris we were laughing about it over and over again in instant replay.
Here is the LC350 that my good mate Russ bought for me to run
while my TZ was being rebuilt.
My Novice season in an egg shell, all new circuits, lots of new friends, Oh, and I learned a shit load about building two stroke motors - the hard way of course !!
I didn't care, it was all just a means to an end and in just over ten weeks I had all the signatures I needed to lose my "Noddy" bib forever.
Not me, it clashed with my colour schemes and had to go A.S.A.P.
