Bandit News - March 2000

The Bandit arrived and I Ran it in before converting it

The Rear Tyre is at it's limit already. Total
Rubbish.
It doesn't want to grip either way,
but I've been to the edge and back...

and I'm running out of clearance
even on this rubbish rubber !!
I ran around for a while, popped into
JTS Leathers at Coalville
and found a great race suit for this season ......

This is the "SIM1" Race suite. I like it a lot.
What do you think ?
See JTS's Web Site for more info and Prices etc.
Anyway, the Bandit was handling Sooooo Badly that I popped down south to see my manager, Dave at MMS, and we crawled all over the bike trying to find what would make it stop wriggling like a rancid Blancmange. It's awful !!
We concluded that the fork springs were too
soft and that the Michelin Tarmacadams were more of a touring tyre than a sports boot.
They'll last a good 10,000 miles so they have to go! Anyway, WPS are due to overhaul the
front and Rear to get it handling properly, Progressive fork springs and a nice multi
adjustable shock on the rear should sort it out, all I need then is the Metzeler MEZ3 Race
tyres and it should be ready for some serious track time.
Maybe this Wednesday, 1st March. If not then definitely the following week on March 8th.
Watch this space.
I went running around with my mate Lee Reveley and
his NEW VTR SP1, the jammy git.
They made an odd couple indeed.
One of these bikes is to die for,
the other wants to kill you !!
